Overview
Ancient Rome was not a monument; it was a working city. This three-hour tour reads it as one, moving through the three sites that made it run — the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill — on a single combined ticket your guide already holds. Inside the Colosseum, your licensed guide rebuilds the machine behind the spectacle: how 50,000 spectators found their seats in minutes, how the awning worked, what a day at the games actually looked like from the stands. Then you cross to the Forum and walk the Via Sacra between the Senate house, the rostra and the temples where the Republic argued itself into an empire, before climbing the Palatine to the ruins of the palaces that gave every later palace its name. With no more than twelve travellers, there is room for questions, tangents and photographs. By the end, the ruins have resolved into a city — and the rest of your time in Rome makes more sense for it.

Are the entry tickets really included for all three sites?
Yes. Your booking covers a combined timed-entry ticket for the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, pre-booked under the group reservation. Bring a valid photo ID matching your booking name, as the Colosseum checks names at the turnstiles. You skip the ticket queue and go straight to security.
How demanding is the walking, and is the route accessible?
Expect around three kilometres on ancient paving, with a gentle climb up the Palatine Hill and little shade in summer. The Colosseum has a lift to the main tiers, but the Forum and Palatine involve uneven ground and steps. Tell us about mobility concerns before booking and we will plan a comfortable route.
Is this tour a good fit for children?
Very much so. Gladiators, emperors and buried temples hold attention better than most museums, and our guides adjust the storytelling when younger travellers are in the group. The three-hour format includes regular pauses and water fountains along the route. Children under eighteen enter the sites free but still need a reserved ticket.
How long is the tour, and how much walking is involved?
This experience runs about 3 hours at an unhurried pace, with regular pauses so your guide can answer questions along the way. Expect a comfortable amount of walking, some of it on uneven historic ground, so wear sturdy, broken-in shoes. Allow a little extra time to reach the meeting point beforehand.
Where does the tour start, and how will I find the guide?
You will meet your guide at Largo Gaetana Agnesi, beside the Colosseo metro exit. Please arrive about fifteen minutes early so the group can set off promptly at the booked time. The exact address and a contact number are confirmed in your booking email, and your guide will be holding an Eterno sign.
Which languages is the tour available in?
This tour is guided in English, Italian, Spanish and French. If you would prefer a private departure in another language, contact us before booking and we will do our best to arrange it. Groups stay small, capped at 12 guests, so everyone can hear the guide clearly throughout.
